Kearney Sports & Recreation

Kearney is host to leagues, clubs and associations available to athletes of all ages. Our area schools give students the opportunity to participate in such sports as basketball, football, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, swimming, tennis and track. The Kearney Park and Recreation Department also operates an array of golf courses, including the championship Meadowlark Hills Golf Course including a driving range and putting green. The Nebraska School Activities Association also holds a number of events in Kearney, including Boys Golf, Play Production, Cross Country, Debate, and Speech. Kearney is also home to 16 NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports and the USHL Tri-City Storm Hockey team.
Central Nebraska's expanse of parks, lakes and reservoirs also provide a vast assortment of recreation like fishing, boating and much more.
