It is served by Interstate 80 and is 3 hours west of Omaha, Nebraska, and 5 hours east of Denver. Kearney is assessable by air transportation, with direct flights daily to Denver, shuttle service from Lincoln and Omaha airports and train service via Amtrak-Holdrege.
Kearney provides over 1,600 rooms offering leisure and business travelers a variety ranging from quaint limited-stay properties to full-service convention hotels. A majority of the hotels are located within a half-mile of each other and are surrounded by restaurants, nightlife and walking trails. A pedestrian bridge spans the Kearney Canal which parallels the west side of Second Avenue. The bridge connects the south hotel area to the retail areas, which includes Cinema 8 and the Big Apple Fun Center and a variety of restaurants and hotels.
