Kearney's own Tri-City Storm Hockey team, a member of the United States Hockey League, is an amateur league for leading hockey players between the ages of 16 and 20.
The team was founded in 2000, and since have won one regular season Championship Title and one Division Championship Title. The team plays their home games at the Viaero Event Center, located just off the Kearney Interstate 80 Exit.
